Regular Season Round 14: Maccabi Ashdod - Elitzur Ramla 75-74

The most exciting game of round 14 in the D1 took place in Ashdod. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Elitzur Ramla (10-3) to first ranked Maccabi Ashdod (11-2) 75-74 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Elitzur Ramla. It was a key game for the top position in the league. International Shay Doron (175-85, college: Maryland) responded with 25 points and 5 rebounds and American Tanisha Wright (180-83, college: Penn St., agency: LBM Management) scored 18 points. Maccabi Ashdod have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-2 record. Defending champion Elitzur Ramla keeps the second place with three games lost. Maccabi Ashdod are looking forward to face Hap.Petah Tikva (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Elitzur Ramla will play against Ramat Hasharon (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
