Regular Season Round 28: Salon Vilpas - Nilan Bisons 75-68

The most important game in the last round took place in Salon between second ranked Loimaan Korikonkarit (17-6) and tenth ranked Salon Vilpas (10-16) on Friday night. Loimaan Korikonkarit was defeated by Salon Vilpas in a tough game on the road 68-75. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Loimaan Korikonkarit. Loimaan Korikonkarit was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 23-14 charge of Salon Vilpas, which allowed them to win the game. Salon Vilpas outrebounded Loimaan Korikonkarit 39-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. 26 personal fouls committed by Loimaan Korikonkarit helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Guard Emmanuel Holloway (188-86, college: Illinois St.) chipped in 23 points and 6 assists. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) produced 22 points and 6 rebounds and forward Ryan McDade (201-80, college: N.Arizona) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Loimaan Korikonkarit players scored in double figures. Salon Vilpas moved-up to eighth place, which they share with KTP. Loimaan Korikonkarit at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Salon Vilpas is looking forward to face UU-Korihait (#10) in Uusikaupunki in the next round. Loimaan Korikonkarit will play on the road against LrNMKY (#6) in Lappeenranta and is hoping to win this game.
