One of the most interesting games of round 13 was a derby match between two teams from Lithuania. Fourth ranked Rudupis edged host Baltai Kaunas (2-11) 94-91. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 32-22. But Baltai Kaunas won second period 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Baltai Kaunas used huge pressure winning it 21-17 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 8-11. Rudupis made 26-of-34 charity shots (76.5 percent) during the game, while Baltai Kaunas only scored nine points from the stripe. Baltai Kaunas were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Gediminas Orelikas (198-90) stepped up and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and guard Gintaras Kadziulis (193-80) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. At the losing side Croatian power forward Mario Delas (207-90) responded with 26 points and 7 rebounds and guard Zygimantas Janavicius (192-89, agency: Interperformances) scored 16 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Baltai Kaunas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rudupis (9-4) moved-up to third place. Baltai Kaunas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
