Very expected game in Katowice where 8th ranked AZS AGH Alstom (8-9) was rolled over by fourth ranked AZS AWF K-ce (12-5) 73-44 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by AZS AWF K-ce. AZS AGH Alstom was better in third quarter 11-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding AZS AGH Alstom to just 4 points in fourth quarter. AZS AWF K-ce forced 21 AZS AGH Alstom turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Marcin Ecka (184-78) who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Krzysztof Kurdubski (187-87) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four AZS AWF K-ce players scored in double figures. Marek Hajduk (195-80) produced 12 points and guard Tomasz Bryzek (194-86) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. AZS AWF K-ce moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with BM Wegiel Stal. Newly promoted AZS AGH Alstom dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. AZS AWF K-ce will face league's leader Slask II W. in Wroclaw in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. AZS AGH Alstom will play at home against HK Zory (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
