Regular Season Round 21: SISU - Svendborg 71-90

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Copenhagen. Second ranked Svendborg faced 4th placed SISU. Guests from Svendborg (19-2) smashed host SISU (9-12) 90-71. The game was mostly controlled by Svendborg. SISU managed to win third quarter 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Svendborg dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to SISU's 30. They outrebounded SISU 37-26 including a 28-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Svendborg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Chanan Colman (191-84, college: Chipola) who scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international guard Adama Darboe (190-86) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Svendborg players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Donald Rutherford (198-87, college: Catawba) who recorded 15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and the other American import swingman Mickey Dennis (190-78, college: JMU) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Svendborg have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 19-2 record having just -1 point less than leader Bakken. SISU at the other side keeps the fourth position with 12 games lost. Svendborg are looking forward to face Vaerlose (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. SISU will play against Naestved and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
