e Saint John Mill Rats, presented by Rogers, dropped a road contest against the #1 London Lightning 125-99 at the John LeBatt Centre in London, Ontario. The Mill Rats settled down to close within 26-23 before Eddie Smith's jumper bounced in at the buzzer to give the hosts a five point lead at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter proved disastrous for Saint John as the Lightning struck with a 20-2 run to begin the quarter. At the half the score was 60-37 in favour of London. Saint John returns home for a three game homestand beginning with the Moncton Miracles at Harbour Station on Wednesday February 1st at 7:00pm. KVHS and SJHS boys varsity teams will battle each other at Harbour Station prior to the Mill Rats' game, beginning at 4:30pm. *Courtesy of www.oursportscentral.com
