Regular Season Round 16: FoKoPo - BC Nokia 60-61

The most exciting game of round 16 in the 1st Division took place in Forssa. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of much higher ranked Forssan Koripojat (12-4) to fourth ranked BC Nokia (12-5) 61-60 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 24-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. BC Nokia forced 21 Forssan Koripojat turnovers. American forward Darren Townes (201-86, college: Hofstra) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American-British power forward Gerald January (201-88, college: Montevallo) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. BC Nokia's coach Ville Tuominen used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Markus Molenius (203-92) produced 14 points and American forward HL Coleman (202-74, college: Wyoming) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. BC Nokia have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 12-5 record. Forssan Koripojat at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. They share the position with Pyrinto II. BC Nokia are looking forward to face Saynatsalon Riento (#8) in Jyvaskyla in the next round. Forssan Koripojat will play on the road against Torpan Pojat (#11) in Helsinki and is hoping to win this game.
