The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 24-16 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 17-11. Halcones Rojos made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Paul Stoll (178-85) who helped to win the game recording 32 points (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Venezuelan power forward Luis Bethelmy (200-86) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Halcones Rojos' coach Eddie Casiano used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard LeRoy Hickerson (196-82, college: Cumberlands) replied with 28 points and Panamanian power forward Antonio Garcia (203-76, college: Ky Wesleyan) added 11 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Pioneros. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
