Regular Season Round 37: Los Angeles D. - Canton C. 127-87

Date: January 30, 2012
The Canton Charge suffered their worst loss of the season at the hands of the host Los Angeles D-Fenders, 127-87, Monday night. Los Angeles was 44-of-79 (55.7 percent) and 13-of-18 on 3-pointers. The D-Fenders’ 127 points and 55 rebounds were new opponent highs for the Charge this season. LA led wire-to-wire and also attempted an opponent season-high 44 free throws. Monday’s defeat comes after Canton won the first two of their three-game road trip after wins in Bakersfield on Friday and in LA Saturday. The Charge shot a season-low 33.3 percent from the floor and was just 6-of-26 on 3-pointers after going 12-of-22 during Saturday’s win. Tyrell Biggs and T.J. Campbell led Canton with 14 points each, while Biggs added eight rebounds and Campbell dished out six assists. Frank Hassell came off the bench to provide 11 points and seven rebounds. Brandon Costner had 20 points for the D-Fenders. After going scoreless Saturday, Elijah Milsap paced LA with 27 points and five rebounds. Mardy Collins had a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists, while Derrick Caracter put up 16 and 14 boards. The reigning D-League Performer of the Week, Manny Harris, had 10 points for his eighth straight contest with double-digit scoring. Antonio Graves scored 13 points off the bench. Canton fell to 12-15, and Los Angeles improved to 18-10. The Charge will return home this weekend for a back-to-back set with the West-leading Austin Toros on Friday and Saturday night, with both games tipping off at 7:30 p.m. *Courtesy of www.cantonrep.com
