The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Filipino Philippine Patriots as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Philippine Patriots defeated bottom-ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat in Manila 76-62. The game was mostly controlled by Philippine Patriots. Saigon Heat managed to win second period 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Nakiea Miller (204-79, college: Iona) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import swingman Anthony Johnson (197-79, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Philippine Patriots players scored in double figures. Philippine Patriots' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. U.S. Virgin Isl.-Antiguan guard Julius Hodge (201-83, college: N.Carolina St., agency: I.D.S. Law) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Jonathan Jones (211-79, agency: TSS Management) added 21 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Saigon Heat. Philippine Patriots have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Saigon Heat at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Saigon Heat will play next round against Satria Muda trying to get back on the winning streak. Philippine Patriots will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked KL Dragons in Kuala Lumpur.
