ASEAN League
Regular Season Round 4: Singapore S. - Petron Blaze 71-63
Date: February 1, 2012
ASEAN League top team - Singapore Singapore Slingers (4-2) added another victory to their record on Wednesday. This time they beat fifth ranked Filipino Petron Blaze (3-2) 71-63. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-14. But Petron Blaze won third quarter 23-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by American power forward Louis Graham (205-84, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import center Donald Little (211-78, college: Cincinnati) supported him with 10 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Singapore Slingers players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Dalron Johnson (206-81, college: UNLV) did not help to save the game for Petron Blaze. Guard Froilan Baguion (170-80) added 15 points and 4 assists for lost side. Petron Blaze's coach Ato Agustin rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Singapore Slingers have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory Singapore Slingers went down to second position due to points difference. Loser Petron Blaze dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with KL Dragons. Singapore Slingers will meet Thailand Slammers (#5) in the next round. Petron Blaze will play against Bangkok Cobras and hope to secure a win.
