There was no surprise in Giessen where 14th ranked LTi 46ers (7-13) were defeated by second ranked ratiopharm Ulm (17-2) 76-70 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Strangely LTi 46ers outrebounded ratiopharm Ulm 38-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American center John Bryant (208-87, college: Santa Clara) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import point guard Tommy Mason-Griffin (180-89, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 13 points. Bosnian power forward Elvir Ovcina (210-76, college: Syracuse, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Barry Stewart (191-88, college: Mississippi St.) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. ratiopharm Ulm have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-2 record behind leader Brose Baskets. Loser LTi 46ers keep the fourteenth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Phoenix Hagen. ratiopharm Ulm will meet at home league's leader Brose Baskets in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. LTi 46ers will play against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#9) and hope to secure a win.
