The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat's (0-5) road loss to seventh ranked Indonesian Satria Muda (2-3) in Jakarta 68-96 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Satria Muda. Saigon Heat was better in second period 32-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Satria Muda looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Saigon Heat's players. Saigon Heat was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Mario Wuysang (176-79) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 assists. American forward Jonathan Smith (206-82, college: Bowie St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Satria Muda players scored in double figures. American center Jonathan Jones (211-79, agency: TSS Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 15 rebounds and American-Filipino guard John Smith (188-86, college: Hawaii-Hilo) added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for Saigon Heat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Satria Muda moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bangkok C. Loser Saigon Heat still closes the standings with five games lost. Satria Muda will face Bangkok Cobras (#6) on the road in the next round. Saigon Heat will play against Petron Blaze in Manila and hopes to get finally their first victory.
