ASEAN League round 5 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Singapore Singapore Slingers (4-2) against sixth ranked Thailand Thailand Slammers (3-3) 66-56 in overtime was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Singapore Slingers. American center DeAndre Thomas (203-86, college: Robert Morris) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Kenneth Walker (206-80, college: Alabama) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American power forward Louis Graham (205-84, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds and Filipino guard Donald Dulay (173-80) added 12 points in the effort for Singapore Slingers. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Thailand Slammers moved-up to fifth place. Singapore Slingers at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Philip.Patriots. Singapore Slingers will play next round against league's leader Philippine Patriots trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Thailand Slammers will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked KL Dragons in Kuala Lumpur.
