Regular Season Round 15: Siauliai - TU/Rock 91-82

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Lithuanian Siauliai (13-2) defeated at home 9th ranked Estonian Tartu Ulikool (5-12) 91-82 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 48-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Siauliai made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Tartu Ulikool was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American-Samoan point guard Rashaun Broadus (183-84, college: BYU) who scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Valdas Vasylius (203-83, college: ODU) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Siauliai's coach Antanas Sireika used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Kristo Saage (184-85) who recorded 23 points and swingman Marek Doronin (200-83) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Siauliai maintains first place in 1 with 13-2 record. Loser Tartu Ulikool keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Siauliai will face Kedainiai (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tartu Ulikool will play against Baltai Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
