There was an upset when second-best Estonian Kalev/Cramo (11-6) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Lithuanian Baltai Kaunas (3-11) 89-78 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Baltai Kaunas. Kalev/Cramo was better in second period 29-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Baltai Kaunas made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was center Mindaugas Kupsas (214-91) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Zygimantas Janavicius (192-89, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 17 points. Four Baltai Kaunas players scored in double figures. Baltai Kaunas' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
