Second Stage Round 2: Lirija - Kumanovo 98-92

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Kumanovo 2009's (8-10) road loss to fourth ranked Lirija (11-7) 92-98. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Lirija made 42-of-53 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game, while Kumanovo 2009 only scored nineteen points from the stripe. Kumanovo 2009 was plagued by 35 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international forward Dime Tasovski (200-80) notched 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Serbian guard Vladimir Filipovic (195-85) supported him with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Even 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) by international guard Aleksandar Kostoski (188-88, agency: Global Sports Plaza) did not help to save the game for Kumanovo 2009. Serbian guard Darko Matic (192-84, agency: 011 Sports) added 23 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Five Lirija and four Kumanovo 2009 players scored in double figures. Lirija maintains fourth position with 11-7 record. Kumanovo 2009 at the other side keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Rabotnicki. Lirija will play against league's second-placed Feni Indistrija in Kavadarci in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Kumanovo 2009 will play at home against the league's leader MZT Skopje and hopes to get back on the winning track.
