Date: February 11, 2012
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both leader BK Decin and their biggest opponent BC Kolin had identical 0-0 record. This time BK Decin used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Kolin 77-63 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in A1. The game was mostly controlled by BK Decin. BC Kolin was better in fourth quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. International power forward Pavel Houska (204-84) stepped up and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and international forward Tomas Pomikalek (200-89) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Chadwick-Farrell Barnes (190-83, college: New Orleans) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and forward David Machac (204-80) scored 18 points. Four BC Kolin players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. BK Decin (1-0) keeps a position of A1 leader, which they share with BK Pardubice and CEZ Nymburk. Loser BC Kolin still closes the standings with one game lost. BK Decin will face BK Pardubice (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. BC Kolin will play against USK Praha and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
