Regular Season Round 20: Geneve Lions - Starwings 88-53

Third ranked Geneve Lions (13-5) crushed at home 6th ranked Starwings (6-12) by 35 points 88-53, which is the biggest margin this round. The game was mostly controlled by Geneve Lions. Starwings was better in fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Geneve Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Starwings' 26. Geneve Lions forced 20 Starwings turnovers and outrebounded them 52-24 including a 34-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Geneve Lions players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Starwings' players. Even 20 points and 9 rebounds by Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW, agency: Warren Sports International) did not help to save the game for Starwings. The former international guard Joel Fuchs (189-89) added 13 points and 4 assists for the guests. Geneve Lions moved-up to second place, which they share with Fribourg. Starwings lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Geneve Lions will play against league's second-placed Fribourg on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Starwings will play against Boncourt (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
