Regular Season Round 23: Bernau - Hannover 89-90

Thirteenth-ranked SSV Lok Bernau (1-20) gave a tough game to first ranked Hannover Tigers (16-4). The visitors from Hannover managed to secure only one-point victory 90-89. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. SSV Lok Bernau was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for Canadian forward Jacob Doerksen (200-87, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. American guard Richard Williams (178-87, college: San Diego St.) accounted for 17 points and 4 assists for the winning side. American power forward Martinis Woody (201-82, college: Benedict) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks and forward Sebastian Trzcionka (197-79) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for SSV Lok Bernau in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SSV Lok Bernau's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hannover Tigers maintains first place in Group North with 16-4 record. SSV Lok Bernau lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. Hannover Tigers will play against RSV Eintracht (#7) in Stahnsdorf in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. SSV Lok Bernau will play at home against Bayer Giants (#11) in Leverkusen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
