Very predictable result in Braunschweig where second ranked Spot Up Medien Baskets (15-6) defeated 9th ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (9-13) 85-81 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 26-16 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Spot Up Medien Baskets forced 21 Herzoege Wolfenbuettel turnovers. It was a great evening for center Daniel Theis (207-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks. Cuban swingman Howard Sant-Roos (198-91) helped adding 20 points. American guard Marquis Jones (185-87, college: Rhode Island, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and guard Dennis Nawrocki (190-92) scored 17 points. Five Spot Up Medien Baskets and four Herzoege Wolfenbuettel players scored in double figures. Spot Up Medien Baskets maintains second place in Group North with 15-6 record behind leader Gotha. Loser Herzoege Wolfenbuettel keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Spot Up Medien Baskets will face SC Rasta Vechta (#4) on the road in the next round.
