Regular Season Round 16: Alcamo - Lucca 57-53

Bottom-ranked Alcamo managed to get a second victory, breaking the eight-game losing streak. This time they won against fourth-ranked Lucca 57-53. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lucca won third quarter 16-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Anna Caliendo (171-83) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Nicole Michael (188-87, college: Syracuse) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American center Shamela Hampton (191-87, college: UNLV) replied with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Slovakian center Marie Ruzickova (189-86, agency: LBM Management) added 11 points in the effort for Lucca. Alcamo maintains twelfth position with 2-14 record. Newly promoted Lucca keeps the fourth place with six games lost. Alcamo will play against higher ranked Umbertide (#5) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Lucca will play against Cagliari CUS and hopes to get back on the winning track.
