The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Golden Gaels' (2-19) road loss to sixth ranked Lions (4-17) in Toronto, ON 82-89 on Friday. Golden Gaels trailed by 13 points at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 27-19 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 82-89 at the end of the game. Lions outrebounded Golden Gaels 36-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of guard David Tyndale (180) who helped to win the game recording 38 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Nick Tufegdzich (201) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Mackenzie Simpson answered with 25 points and 5 rebounds and guard Ryan Golden (183) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Golden Gaels. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lions maintains sixth place with 4-17 record. Golden Gaels lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 19 games lost. Lions will face RMC (#8) in Kingston, ON in the next round. Golden Gaels will play on the road against Voyageurs in Sudbury, ON.
