Rather expected game when 9th ranked Vahostav-Zilina (7-21) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Levice (13-16) 76-68. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Levice outrebounded Vahostav-Zilina 37-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Canadian power forward Corey Hallett (208-84, college: Monmouth) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and British center Michael Bernard (205-78, college: S.Florida) supported him with 22 points. Even 24 points and 4 assists by guard Viliam Kosa (190-86) did not help to save the game for Vahostav-Zilina. American guard Devin Chambers (183-86, college: S.Maine) added 15 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Levice maintains seventh position with 13-16 record. Vahostav-Zilina at the other side stay at the bottom place with 21 games lost. They share the position with B.Bystrica. Levice will play against higher ranked Nova Ves (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vahostav-Zilina will play against Svit (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
