Regular Season Round 7: KL Dragons - Singapore S. 86-71

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kuala Lumpur. Third ranked Malaysian host KL Dragons (5-2) defeated 4th placed Singapore Singapore Slingers (4-4) 86-71. The game was mostly controlled by KL Dragons. Singapore Slingers managed to win second period 27-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Singapore Slingers to just 7 points in first quarter. 24 personal fouls committed by Singapore Slingers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for center Brian Williams (208-87, college: Tennessee, agency: VVG Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Tiras Wade (200-81, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 34 points (!!!). At the losing side power forward Louis Graham (205-84, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) responded with 25 points and 9 rebounds and center Donald Little (211-78, college: Cincinnati) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KL Dragons moved-up to second place, which they share with Petron Blaze. Singapore Slingers lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with four games lost. KL Dragons is looking forward to face Petron Blaze (#3) in Manila in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Singapore Slingers will play on the road against Satria Muda in Jakarta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
