The game in Nagano was also quite interesting. Third ranked Kyoto Hannar. (22-10) played at the court of 7th ranked Shinshu BW (13-21). Kyoto Hannar. defeated Shinshu BW 98-84 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Kyoto Hannar.. Shinshu BW managed to win fourth quarter 33-30. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated the game. Forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota, agency: SportsTalent) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Jermaine Boyette (188-78, college: Weber St., agency: SportsTalent) supported him with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Four Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 27 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) by guard Derek Raivio (190-84, college: Gonzaga, agency: Priority Sports) did not help to save the game for Shinshu BW. Power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) added 18 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Kyoto Hannar. maintains third position with 22-10 record having seven points less than leader Hamamatsu P. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the seventh place with 21 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will meet at home Saitama Broncos (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Shinshu BW will play against Toyama Grouses and hope to secure a win.
