Bottom-ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (0-7) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to seventh ranked Thailand Bangkok Cobras (3-4) 76-61 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 40-21 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Bangkok Cobras outrebounded Saigon Heat 43-27 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Michael Earl (203-85, college: Utah St.) fired 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. His fellow American import power forward Gentry Lewis (206-81, college: Philander Smith) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Lewis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five Bangkok Cobras players scored in double figures. Bangkok Cobras' coach Joe Bryant used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American center Jonathan Jones (211-79, agency: TSS Management) produced 24 points and 8 rebounds and Filipino guard Noy Javier (186) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Bangkok Cobras moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Satria Muda. Saigon Heat lost their seventh game in a row. They still closes the standings with seven games lost. Bangkok Cobras will meet at home league's leader Philippine Patriots in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Saigon Heat will play against Thailand Slammers (#7) in Bangkok and hopes to get finally their first victory.
