We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Quebec City, QC where one of their biggest challengers Rouge et Or (4-10) was edged by fifth ranked Gaiters (4-10) 81-78 on Sunday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-15. But Rouge et Or won second period 20-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gaiters dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Rouge et Or's 30. Rouge et Or was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Sean Monplaisir (188) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and center Mike Andrews (208) who added 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Hugues Ryan responded with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Christian Deslauniers-Trottier (188-87) scored 18 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Gaiters moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Laval. Gaiters will face league's second-placed Redmen in Montreal, QC in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Rouge et Or will play at home against the league's leader Stingers in Montreal, QC.
