Regular Season Round 27: Halychyna - DniproAzot 91-72
Date: February 19, 2012
Bottom-ranked Halychyna managed to get the third consecutive victory. This time they outleveled twelfth-ranked DniproAzot in Lviv 91-72. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 19-point difference proves that Halychyna was well-prepared to that game. The game was mostly controlled by Halychyna. DniproAzot was better in fourth quarter 23-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American guard Lance Harris (195-83, college: Kansas St.) who led his team to a victory with 23 points. Serbian power forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-84, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Kammron Taylor (188-84, college: Wisconsin, agency: Edge Sports) answered with 17 points and the former international center Volodymyr Gurtovoy (207-75) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for DniproAzot. Five Halychyna and four DniproAzot players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Halychyna have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourteenth place with 6-23 record. DniproAzot at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 20 games lost. Halychyna will play against higher ranked Mykolaiv (#10) in Mykolaiv in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. DniproAzot will have a break next round.
