There was no surprise when 8th ranked Triobet (19-18) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Mazeikiai (22-15) 70-52 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Mazeikiai. Triobet was better in second period 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Triobet to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Mazeikiai forced 23 Triobet turnovers. Forward Janas Jurgo (200-83) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. American guard Parrish Brown (185-84, college: Maryland, agency: Hightower Law Firm) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Forward Vytautas Kruzikas (199-89) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds and forward Martynas Linkevicius (197-85) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Triobet's coach Kestutis Narusevicius tested twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Mazeikiai maintains fifth place in with 22-15 record. Loser Triobet dropped to the ninth position with 18 games lost. Mazeikiai will face again Triobet (#9) in Jonava in the next round.
