Regular Season Round 24: Art.Dragons - Ratiopharm 73-84

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Quakenbrueck. Second ranked ratiopharm Ulm faced 3rd ranked Artland Dragons. Guests from Ulm (19-5) defeated host Artland Dragons (17-7) 84-73. The game was mostly controlled by ratiopharm Ulm. Artland Dragons managed to win third quarter 21-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Artland Dragons to just 4 points in first quarter. The best player for the winners was American guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: Florida St.) who scored 27 points and 5 assists. The other American import point guard Tommy Mason-Griffin (180-90, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Four ratiopharm Ulm players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Darren Fenn (208-80, college: Canisius, agency: Limelight Hoops) who recorded 12 points and 9 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican forward Nathan Peavy (203-85, college: Miami, OH) added 17 points respectively. Artland Dragons' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. ratiopharm Ulm maintains second position with 19-5 record having just one points less than leader Brose Baskets. Artland Dragons at the other side dropped to the fourth place with seven games lost. ratiopharm Ulm are looking forward to face New Yorker Phantoms (#9) in Braunschweig in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Artland Dragons will play on the road against Bayern Muenchen (#7) and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
