Regular Season Round 22: Geneve Lions - SAV Vacallo 83-69

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Geneve Lions (15-5) defeated at home 5th ranked SAV Vacallo (10-9) 83-69. It looked good early as SAV Vacallo took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Geneve Lions had a 24-20 second period charge getting the lead and SAV Vacallo was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-83. Geneve Lions players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The game was dominated by American players. It was a very good performance for forward Sean Barnette (195-86, college: Wingate, agency: Warren Sports International) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Erroyl Bing (198-82, college: E.Carolina) contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Geneve Lions players scored in double figures. Geneve Lions' coach Nebojsa Lazarevic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Matt Schneiderman (204-81, college: N.Iowa) replied with 17 points and 8 rebounds and guard Rickey Gibson (191-84, college: Stillman) added 13 points and 7 assists in the effort for SAV Vacallo. Geneve Lions have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-5 record having just three points less than leader Lugano Tigers. SAV Vacallo at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Geneve Lions will play against Monthey (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. SAV Vacallo will play against SAM Massagno and hopes to get back on the winning track.
