Filipino leader Philippine Patriots delivered the seventh victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 6th ranked Thailand Bangkok Cobras (3-5) 80-72. Bangkok Cobras trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 25-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 72-80 at the end of the game. Philippine Patriots looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Philippine Patriots made 10 blocks. Worth to mention a quality performance of American swingman Anthony Johnson (197-79, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Al Vergara (173-79) who added 2 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Philippine Patriots' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Filipino guard Jai Reyes (173) responded with 21 points and 7 assists and Filipino guard Marvin Cruz (173-84) scored 21 points. Philippine Patriots (7-1) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Loser Bangkok Cobras keep the sixth place with five games lost. Philippine Patriots will meet at home Petron Blaze (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
