There was a small surprise when sixth ranked BK Usti nad Labem (9-21) outscored at home one of their biggest challengers Levharti Chomutov (11-19) 119-86 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 119-86. BK Usti nad Labem shot 60.6 percent from the field and made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. BK Usti nad Labem outrebounded Levharti Chomutov 40-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. Levharti Chomutov was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Troy Gottselig (203-87) who scored 28 points and 9 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). American guard Thaddeus McFadden (188-87, college: Fairmont St., agency: Stanley International) chipped in 22 points and 8 assists. Five BK Usti nad Labem players scored in double figures. American guard Patrick Pope (183-81, college: St.Augustine) produced 36 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Jakub Krakovic (205-90) added 20 points respectively for the guests. Levharti Chomutov's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. BK Usti nad Labem moved-up to fifth place in A2, which they share with Inter Bratislava. Levharti Chomutov at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth position with 19 games lost. BK Usti nad Labem will face league's leader NH Ostrava at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Levharti Chomutov will play against BK Loko Plzen.
