Top 16 Round 6: Banvit BK - Spartak SP 68-61

Banvit wrapped up their EuroCup Last 16 campaign on a high note. They handed Spartak SP the first defeat at the tournament but still failed to advance into the next round. Buducnost outgunned Krka in a parallel game and clinched the second spot in Group F. Banvit remained in the third position just outside the playoff zone. Spartak in the meantime remained on top of the standings despite the loss. Spartak felt at home in the first half. The group leaders dominated in the first twenty minutes taking a 38:32 halftime advantage. Banvit however turned things upside down in the third period. The hosts limited Spartak to 8 points and surged ahead for a 50:46 lead. Banvit continued to stay aggressive defensively and did not allow Spartak to get any closer in the final frame. Kalin Lucas fired 18 points to lead the effort. Kenan Bajramovic and Charles Davis added 12 points each in the victory. Valery Likhodey and Patrick Beverley responded with 16 points each for Spartak Saint Petersburg.
