Second Stage Round 3: Chomutov - Svitavy 80-77

A very close game took place in Chomutov between Levharti Chomutov and Basketbal Svitavy. Third ranked Levharti Chomutov (13-19) got a very close home victory over 4th placed Basketbal Svitavy (13-19). Levharti Chomutov managed to escape with a 3-point win 80-77 in the fight for the third place. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Levharti Chomutov outrebounded Basketbal Svitavy 44-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Patrick Pope (183-81, college: St.Augustine) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Jakub Krakovic (205-90) accounted for 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. American point guard Michael Deloach (183-86, college: Norfolk St.) came up with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Congolese-French forward Boris Meno (203-83, college: Davidson) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Basketbal Svitavy in the defeat. Four Basketbal Svitavy players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Levharti Chomutov maintains third place in A2 with 13-19 record having five points less than leader NH Ostrava, which they share with Svitavy. Levharti Chomutov will meet league's leader NH Ostrava on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Basketbal Svitavy will play against BK Loko Plzen and hope to secure a win.
