There was no surprise in Lubertsy where 9th ranked Estonian Tartu Ulikool (6-13) was defeated by second ranked Russian Triumph Lyubertsy (13-4) 58-50 on Thursday. Tartu Ulikool trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 15-8 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 50-58 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Tartu Ulikool 39-12 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Serbian forward Lazar Trifunovic (203-87, college: Radford) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Victor Zvarykin (198-86) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side guard Valmo Kriisa (190-74) responded with 10 points and center Vallo Allingu (206-78) scored 12 points. Tartu Ulikool's coach Gert Kullamae rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Triumph Lyubertsy have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place in 1 with 13-4 record having just three points less than leader Siauliai. Loser Tartu Ulikool keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Triumph Lyubertsy will meet at home league's leader Siauliai in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tartu Ulikool will play against Rudupis (#4) in Prienai and hope to secure a win.
