Regular Season Round 36: Nitra - Prievidza 83-81 OT

There was a change at the Extraliga leadership position after last games. Round 36 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Prievidza (22-10). They were edged by third ranked Nitra (21-11) 83-81 in overtime on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Prievidza. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Prievidza won third quarter 17-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Prievidza used huge pressure winning it 17-15 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 7-9. Nitra maintains third position with 21-11 record behind leader Komarno. Prievidza at the other side still keeps top place with ten games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Komarno who have the same record. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
