Regular Season Round 21: BC Nokia - Pyrinto II 70-69

The most exciting game of round 21 in the 1st Division took place in Nokia. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Pyrinto II (14-7) to fifth ranked BC Nokia (14-7) 70-69 in the game for the fourth place. Pyrinto II was trailing by 9 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 17-14 charge of BC Nokia, which allowed them to win the game. American-British power forward Gerald January (201-88, college: Montevallo, agency: Hightower Law Firm) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and American forward Darren Townes (201-86, college: Hofstra) chipped in 20 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was swingman Osku Heinonen (194-92) with 23 points and 6 rebounds and guard Jukka-Pekka Vaananen (195-84) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. BC Nokia moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Pyrinto II. BC Nokia is looking forward to face Ura Basket (#10) in Kaarina in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pyrinto II will play at home against the league's leader Forssan Koripojat (#1) and is hoping to win this game.
