Regular Season Round 29: Bari - Fabriano 76-55

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Bari (15-13) smashed at home 5th ranked Fabriano (8-19) 76-55 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Bari. Fabriano was better in second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Fabriano's 34. Bari forced 21 Fabriano turnovers and outrebounded them 45-18 including a 18-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Antonio Ruggiero (190-81) who scored 11 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. Naturalized Maltese center Samuel Deguara (224-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Four Bari players scored in double figures. Forward Giorgio Sgobba (202-92) produced 19 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and swingman Nicolas D'Arrigo (190-93) added 8 points respectively for the guests. Bari moved-up to second place, which they share with Chieti. Fabriano at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with 19 games lost. Bari will face Ferentino (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Fabriano will play against Latina Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
