Regular Season Round 24: Tarvas - Tln Kalev 65-66

The most exciting game of round 24 in the KML took place in Rakvere. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd ranked BC Rakvere (15-8) to sixth ranked Tln Kalev (10-15) 66-65 on Friday evening. BC Rakvere was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 13-10 charge of Tln Kalev, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely BC Rakvere outrebounded Tln Kalev 51-29 including a 24-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Brandis Raley-Ross (188-87, college: S.Carolina) who scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import forward Matt Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV) chipped in 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was center Reinar Hallik (208-84) who recorded 14 points and 8 rebounds and Latvian swingman Juris Umbrasko (197-79) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. BC Rakvere's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Tln Kalev have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 10-15 record. BC Rakvere at the other side keeps the third place with eight games lost. Tln Kalev will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BC Rakvere will play on the road against KK Parnu and is hoping to win this game.
