An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Levice. Third ranked Levice faced 4th placed Levharti Chomutov. Host Levice (15-19) defeated guests from Chomutov (13-21) 86-74. Levice outrebounded Levharti Chomutov 36-18 including a 21-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. Slovakian power forward Jozef Vojtek (203-85) stepped up and scored 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners and Croatian-Slovenian forward Stipe Modric (206-79) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Five Levice players scored in double figures. American guard Patrick Pope (183-81, college: St.Augustine) responded with 23 points and 4 assists and the other American import guard Rob Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) scored 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Levice moved-up to second place in A2, which they share with Svitavy. Newly promoted Levharti Chomutov keeps the fourth position with 21 games lost. Levice will meet at home league's leader NH Ostrava in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Levharti Chomutov will play against Inter Bratislava and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
