Nazionale A round 30 caused change at the leadership position. Tenth defeat of league's leader Trieste (19-10) against first ranked Omegna (26-4) 72-60 was the most important game of the last round. The game was mostly controlled by Omegna. Trieste managed to win third quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Omegna forced 21 Trieste turnovers. It was a good game for swingman Daniele Casadei (199-81) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 4 steals. Guard Andrea Saccaggi (192-89, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 11 points for the winners. Innocenzo Ferraro (200-82) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Michele Ruzzier (181-93) added 14 points in the effort for Trieste. Trieste's coach Eugenio Dalmasson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Omegna have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 26-4 record. Trieste at the other side dropped to the second place with ten games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Omegna. Trieste will play next round against strong Perugia trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Omegna will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Castelletto on the road.
