Second Stage Round 3: Anwil - Stelmet ZG 88-72

Undefeated Zastal ZG (2-1) recorded its first loss in Wloclawek. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Anwil (1-2) 88-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Zastal ZG. The game was mostly controlled by Anwil. Zastal ZG was better in fourth quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anwil players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for American power forward Corsley Edwards (205-79, college: Cent.Conn.St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. International guard Dardan Berisha (192-88, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Anwil players scored in double figures. Anwil's coach Krzysztof Szablowski allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Marcin Flieger (182-84) added 11 points and 4 assists in the effort for Zastal ZG. Anwil left bottom position moving up to fifth place in Group A. Zastal ZG at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Anwil will play against higher ranked Energa Czarni (#4) in Slupsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zastal ZG will play on the road against the league's leader Trefl Sopot and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
