Superleague top team - MZT Skopje (20-4) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat fifth ranked Kumanovo 2009 (10-14) 72-57. The game was mostly controlled by MZT Skopje. Kumanovo 2009 managed to win third quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. MZT Skopje shot 24 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Kumanovo 2009 only scored eight points from the stripe. The winners were led by American guard Cade Davis (196-88, college: Oklahoma) who scored that evening 21 points and the former international power forward Gjorgi Cekovski (203-79, agency: New Trend Agency) supported him with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four MZT Skopje players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 8 rebounds by American guard Philip Brooks (188-84, college: Langston) did not help to save the game for Kumanovo 2009. International guard Aleksandar Kostoski (188-88, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 13 points for the guests. Kumanovo 2009's coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MZT Skopje maintains first position in with 20-4 record. Loser Kumanovo 2009 keeps the fifth place with 14 games lost. MZT Skopje's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Skopje to the arena Lirija.
