Maranho are now 1-0 up on Poty/Acucar in the quarterfinal series. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Poty/Acucar won third quarter 17-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. International swingman Iziane Castro Marques (183-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) stepped up and scored 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds for the winners and forward Renatinha Oliveira (182-85) chipped in 15 points.
