We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 10th ranked Terceira Basket (4-14) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Barcelos (5-14) 73-58. The game without a history. Barcelos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Barcelos forced 22 Terceira Basket turnovers and had a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Spanish power forward Sergi Coll (204-82) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Rui Coelho (191-89) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Four Barcelos players scored in double figures. Barcelos' coach Ricardo Rodrigues allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Frederico Tavares (194-88) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds and American center Monquel Pegues (208-86, college: Tarleton St.) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Terceira Basket in the defeat. Barcelos moved-up to tenth place. Terceira Basket lost their sixth game in a row. Terceira Basket at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Barcelos' next round opponent will be higher ranked Lusitania (#6) in Angra and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Terceira Basket will play at home against CAB Madeira (#5) in Funchal.
