Regular Season Round 6: Guaynabo - Quebradillas 88-80

Round 6 in BSN means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Guaynabo where host Mets (4-3) beat league's leader Quebradillas (4-2) 88-80 on Tuesday evening. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Mets made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American swingman James Maye (201-81, college: NC-Greensboro) who scored 23 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The former international swingman Angel Luis Figueroa (196-81, college: Dowling, agency: Paris Global Sports) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Peter John Ramos (222-85) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and American swingman Ricky Davis (201-79, college: Iowa) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Mets and five Quebradillas players scored in double figures. Mets moved-up to fourth place. Quebradillas at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Mayaguez who have the same record. Quebradillas will play next round against Capitanes trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Mets will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Atleticos in San German.
