Very important is a road loss of second ranked Loimaan Korikonkarit (24-11) against ninth ranked Kouvot (13-22) on Wednesday night. Visiting Loimaan Korikonkarit was defeated by Kouvot in Kouvola 78-61. The game was mostly controlled by Kouvot. Loimaan Korikonkarit managed to win third quarter 13-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Anthony Brown (203-86, college: Oklahoma St., agency: KMG Sports Management) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. point guard Antto Nikkarinen (185-91) accounted for 18 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Kouvot players scored in double figures. Forward Matti Nuutinen (200-90) came up with 14 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Michael Nunnally (203-86, college: Pacific) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Loimaan Korikonkarit in the defeat. Loimaan Korikonkarit's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Kouvot maintains ninth place with 13-22 record. Loser Loimaan Korikonkarit keeps the second position with 11 games lost. They share it with Pyrinto. Kouvot will meet higher ranked KTP-Basket (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
