Second Stage Round 4: AZS Koszalin - PBG Basket 85-73

Very expected game when 7th ranked PBG Basket (9-21) lost on the road to third ranked AZS Koszalin (14-16) 85-73 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by AZS Koszalin. PBG Basket was better in fourth quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AZS Koszalin looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a very good performance for American guard LaMont McIntosh (190-82, college: Georgia St.) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 5 assists. The other American import power forward Callistus Eziukwu (208-85, college: Grand Valley St.) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four AZS Koszalin players scored in double figures. AZS Koszalin's coach Andrej Urlep used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international power forward Damian Kulig (205-87) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and naturalized Belgian center Aleksander Lichodzijewski (202-84) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for PBG Basket. AZS Koszalin have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position in Group B with 14-16 record having four points less than leader Slask Wroclaw, which they share with Siarka Jezioro. PBG Basket lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 21 games lost. AZS Koszalin will face Siarka Jezioro (#4) in Tarnobrzeg in the next round. PBG Basket will play at home against Polpharma in Starogard and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
